Install SEGS test client download and ip address information

Post by noyjitat » Thu Apr 05, 2018 3:04 am

Hi, I put the client from the old torrent in my dropbox and a short readme for installation.
The installer and readme are in a 7zip file so you will need 7zip to unzip the files: 32bit: https://www.7-zip.org/a/7z1801.exe or 64bit: https://www.7-zip.org/a/7z1801-x64.exe

Download the client: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/zeog2xjkrjqn ... yeAma?dl=0
Download 7zip: 32bit: https://www.7-zip.org/a/7z1801.exe or 64bit: https://www.7-zip.org/a/7z1801-x64.exe
Enjoy

Installation instructions:
1) Run the file "SEGS Cox-Setup"
2) When prompted enter the current segs server ip which is 77.46.93.89
3) after you enter the segs ip click save and close the ip window
4) eventually the installer finishes
5) Run the Cox-Client icon on your desktop and enter a username and password which will auto register with the server.

Notes: Use the same user and password everytime you try to login to retain access to the characters made otherwise if you get the password or usename incorrectly you won't see any characters you
made.
Current issues with segs server and client

*Radeon and intel graphics users will likely experience texture issues with costumes and a very dark world due to this CoX client not being patched to handle non nvidia graphics cards
*the test server has been known to randomly crash and auto restart in the past. So if you can't login try again later

To anyone downloading the client setup, the one that works and is not infected with "red martian sores"
has a md5sum of 827d9b995a5e522ae5ad3d9169f2edc2.

Code: Select all

827d9b995a5e522ae5ad3d9169f2edc2 CoX-Setup.exe
The link that noyjitat posted contains an archive with this specific file + a readme that has slightly outdated auth server IP, until we have a more central location with test server running, try running your own servers :)

Just to make things specific : this link -> https://www.dropbox.com/sh/zeog2xjkrjqn ... yeAma?dl=0 right now contains the file it should, and no known viruses make their home in it :)
If you have doubts, you can always use a https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/hel ... for-a-file to verify it.
