Task: Writing User stories.

Post by nemerle » Wed Mar 13, 2013 12:12 pm

Task: Writing stories of the form:
I am 'X' and I must/want/can/.. do 'Y'
Where 'X' are people that take part in the life of the given World:
Players, Actors, NPCs, Content creators, Storytellers, GMs, Support Personnel, Administrators, others
And 'Y' is any activity You consider important for that particular person.

I think we can create separate posts for all specific roles that we identify ? That way there will be no need for everyone to register on the redmine.nemerle.eu wiki. How about it ?

Why is it useful ? Those stories are the basis from which more formal lists of requirements can be extracted. Requirements lead to design, design leads to software components... :D
Required resources: Time, optionally: imagination, opinions, CoH Architect experience

Reason: Split the task into it's own topic.

I think I'm confused on what you're looking for here. Are you looking for us to do NPC write ups? Or write ups of our own skills? Or both?

It's mostly an imagination and RP game :)
Some explanations are in order, for few of those roles.
Storyteller: A Human 'Game Master' In the tabletop RPG sense, or 'Director' in the movie sense, controls the flow of the mission, and has a wide authority over the environment and the players.
Actors - Human controlled Heroes, under direction of the Storyteller
NPCs - a AI controlled entities,
Content creators - Everyone from 'set' builders, to object scripters.

Example:
You imagine that you're the Storyteller and then, thinking about all the things a Storyteller might need/want to do while running a 'mission' for a player group/advertising hers/his stories /etc.

Bonus points: Which book did the idea of a Storyteller in MMO game came from ? :P
