Who do you think would win?

Say the name, and the reason why.

Solid Snake FTW :).

He's more brutal.

I say snake. It was a tough decision because I love both of these characters, but I went with Snake because he is just downright awesome.

Well it's all about circumstance really
Solid Snake is the better upfront fighter due to his genetically modified nature (he's one of two clones of Big Boss, but he was also modified for enchanced strength, endurance, etc) and has proven himself capable of beating anything thrown at him with whatevers on hand (grenades and mines against a tank that knew he was there, sniper rifle against a sniper bitch, etc). Plus he always seems to come out on top for no seemingly possible reason despite his emo nature. BUT he is nowhere as stealthy as his rival.

Sam Fisher owns snake at stealth, snake just doesn't share Sam's lith body and abilities at crawling into and through tight places and other unusual places/surfaces plus Sam has much more in the way of training and experience in utilising his stealth expertise. But due to his lith and supple sneaky bastards body he cannot take or give anywhere near the damage Snake can but he makes up for it to a degree with all his extra gizmo's and such.

In the end it is all about WHERE they fight.
Snake is more of a sneak in then cause havoc and mayhem type, a shock infiltrator.
But he has a moral streak which kicks in at the worst times and makes him start acting all emo.

Sam Fisher is more of the pure espionage type, he goes in to take something or rescue a specific target and get out with minimal contact with the enemy and minimal casualties.
He is more amoral than snake and has a constant feed from his backup crew who feed him orders and info as he needs it which gives him an advantage in any field.
His main weakness is that he HAS to stay hidden or he dies.

So if they fought in a sewer network: Sam Fisher would win due to the shadows and uneven surfaces giving him the cover he needed to sneak up on snake and tazer/shoot him.

But if they fought in a well lit square room with minimal obstacles and no weapons then Snake would easily win due to his superior strength.

In short the darker and more crowded the room is the higher Sam's chances of winning
the brighter and more open the room the higher Snakes chance of winning

Snake because Sam Fisher usually fails missions when he is caught where as Snake just slices/jabs/kicks/shoots/throws/whatever else to ppl to get away and get the guys off him

Well, keep in mind that Sam is a well trained spec-op, versus snake, who is a geneome soldier, who has been basically designed, through big bosses dna, to be the perfect soldier, no matter the circumstance. So technically, SNAKE PWNS FISHER
